The Asian American Arts Alliance (A4) is a New York City–based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Asian American artists and cultural organizations through resource sharing, promotion, advocacy, and community building. A4 works across artistic disciplines to increase representation, equity, and professional opportunities for Asian American artists and strengthen the broader cultural ecosystem. The Anjeli Jana Memorial Internship was established in memory of Anjeli Jana, an AAPI artist who worked across acting, music, documentary filmmaking, writing, and other creative fields. Funded by the Jana-MacAdam family, the internship honors her commitment to pursuing a life devoted to the arts while providing a college or university student with practical experience supporting AAPI artists and cultural programming.

Anjeli Jana Memorial Internship
The Anjeli Jana Memorial Internship is a paid, part-time arts administration internship for a qualified college or university student during the Fall 2026–Spring 2027 academic year. The intern will work alongside A4 staff to support public programs, constituent communications, artist outreach, research, data tracking, volunteer coordination, and other organizational activities.
The position offers hands-on exposure to the operations of a long-standing artist-support nonprofit and is particularly suited to students interested in arts administration, cultural programming, communications, community engagement, and nonprofit arts organizations.

Position & Tasks
The intern may assist with email outreach to artists and constituents, research and data tracking, volunteer coordination, and the planning and execution of A4’s public programs. Depending on the intern’s interests and organizational needs, responsibilities may also include fundraising initiatives and operational support.
The role requires strong communication, organization, writing, prioritization, and independent working skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, and CRM systems such as Neon is expected; Adobe Creative Suite experience is an advantage.

Eligibility
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a college or university program. Students on a gap year or individuals who have recently graduated are not eligible. Applicants should demonstrate an interest in the arts, the Asian American community, and/or A4’s mission. Strong written and oral communication skills, self-motivation, organization, and the ability to manage multiple projects are required.
The internship is specifically designed to support students connected to the Asian American/AAPI arts community. The program’s official description identifies the opportunity as supporting a college or university student of Asian American descent.
Program Benefits
The selected intern receives $20 per hour and practical professional experience in nonprofit arts administration.
