Auto Italia is a non-profit visual arts institution based in Bethnal Green, London, dedicated to researching, producing and exhibiting work on the intersections of queer studies and social change. The organisation was established in 2007 by a community of artists who were living, working and programming exhibitions from a squatted car garage in Peckham, South London, and has since grown into an internationally recognised platform, with commissioned work touring to venues including Tate Modern and ICA in London, KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin, and the Hessel Museum in New York, among others. Arts Council England supports Auto Italia as a National Portfolio Organisation, and Tower Hamlets Council through the Local Community Fund. The organisation is a registered charity (no. 1151979) and not-for-profit company limited by guarantee (no. 07490255).

Call for Proposals: Art/Work Association (A/WA) 2027
Art/Work Association is Auto Italia's annual peer-led programme supporting early-career creatives to develop and deliver a single public event, through formats such as workshops, discussions, reading groups, screenings, talks, performances, or skill-sharing sessions. The programme is aimed at proposals that encourage active participation, critical engagement, discussion, experimentation, or shared learning, and is open to practices spanning visual art, performance, music, film, writing, design, and socially engaged practice, as well as interdisciplinary work. Applicants do not need a fully developed project at the point of application; selected participants receive mentoring and curatorial support from Auto Italia's team to develop their idea into a deliverable public event.

Eligibility
- Open to early-career creatives working in visual art, performance, music, film, writing, design, socially engaged practice, or interdisciplinary practices
- Previous experience delivering public programmes is not required
- No fully developed project is required at the time of application
