Arts Curator Intern – Summer 2026
Trinity Square Video invites eligible students to apply for an Arts Curator Intern position for an 18-week summer term. The internship provides hands-on experience in curatorial practices, exhibition management, and gallery operations within a professional media arts setting. Interns will collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Operating Manager to support exhibitions, artist communications, installations, and public programming. This internship is designed for students passionate about Visual Arts, Media Arts, Curatorial, or Arts Administration, offering practical skills, mentorship, and exposure to the operations of a leading Canadian media arts organization.
The Role Overview
- Salary/Wage: $22.00 CAD/hour
- Hours: 18 hours/week
- Term: 18 weeks (28 April – 31 August 2026)
- Contract Type: Summer Internship
- Reporting To: Executive Director & Operating Manager
- Location: Trinity Square Video, Toronto, Canada
- Curator/Programme: Intern will assist with curatorial support for gallery exhibitions, artist coordination, and public programs.
- Fee/Compensation: Paid hourly internship; no additional fees
Position & Tasks
Interns will contribute to Trinity Square Video’s summer programming with tasks including:
- Exhibition Support: Conduct artist and artwork research; prepare labels, wall text, and documentation.
- Artist Coordination: Communicate with artists, schedule meetings, and confirm installation requirements.
- Installation: Assist in the setup and de-installation of exhibitions under guidance.
- Gallery Operations: Support openings, screenings, talks, and visitor engagement.
- Administration: Maintain exhibition records, track attendance, and assist with filing and other operational tasks.
Interns will gain hands-on professional experience in gallery management and curatorial practice, while contributing to high-quality media arts exhibitions.

Eligibility
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee status
- Legally entitled to work in Canada (valid SIN required)
- Age 16–30 at start of internship
- Currently enrolled in high school, college, CEGEP, or university and intending to return to full-time studies next semester
- Priority for students who have not participated in the YCWHO program previously
