Short Description
In 2026, the Kunsthalle Jesuitenkirche celebrates its 50th anniversary – half a century marked by artistic innovation, cultural exchange and constant development as an important institution of the city. In the context of the anniversary, the theme of “steps” is to be understood as a metaphor for the continuous development of the Kunsthalle. Just as a step enables the step to a new perspective, the Kunsthalle has also initiated numerous artistic developments over the past five decades and made important works of art accessible to a broad audience. The theme of “steps” is intended – especially in view of the tragic events in Schöntal Park in January 2025 – as a metaphor for the process of growing and overcoming social upheavals. Artists are invited to interpret the theme in different ways: personal growth, social or political transformation, artistic development, symbolism of the stages
