Organizer Information:
The Brookline Arts Center (BAC) is situated in a historic firehouse turned arts center in Brookline, Massachusetts. The organization supports artistic experimentation and community engagement through education, exhibitions, and public programming.

Applications are open for the BAC Summer 2026 Artist Residency.
This 12-week program is designed for one dynamic solo artist or collaborative group to experiment and grow their body of work. Selected artists will spend the first 6 weeks using the 127-square-foot Annex Gallery as a private studio to design, create, and install a site-specific, original installation or series. The following 6 weeks will see the space transition into a public exhibition of the completed work.
A core component of this residency is community engagement. Artists are expected to interact with the local community and BAC students by hosting an open studio, a culminating reception, and a public talk or workshop.

Eligibility:
- Who: Solo artists or collaborative groups (18+).
- Scope: United States residents only (Priority given to artists residing in New England).
- Requirements: Preference is given to proposals that actively incorporate engagement with BAC students or the local community.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Stipend: $2,500 USD.
- Workspace: 24-hour access to the Annex Gallery, plus use of the 2D, ceramics, and small metals studios and equipment.
- Exhibition: A 6-week solo show in the Annex Gallery following the studio period, with collaborative marketing support.
- Mentorship: Formal critiques by visiting artists, faculty, or staff. Opportunities to take BAC classes.

Program Costs:
- Artists are fully responsible for their own housing, transportation, meals, art materials, furniture, and supplies.
Application Requirements:
Submit a single PDF named LastName_FirstName_BACResidency2026.pdf. The PDF must include:
- Proposal Narrative and/or Sketches.
- CV/Resume.
- Artist Statement.
- Portfolio: 5–10 images of recent work with captions directly underneath (title, media, dimensions, year completed).
