Marignana Arte is a leading contemporary art gallery and research hub based in Venice, Italy. Since its founding in 2013, the organization has dedicated itself to promoting the work of emerging and mid-career artists across a global landscape. Operating through several distinctive venues—including Marignana Gallery, Marignana Project, and the expansive Spazio Berlendis—the organization has collaborated with over 90 artists and organized more than 80 exhibitions in partnership with major Italian and international institutions. Marignana Arte is recognized for its commitment to experimental languages and formal research, fostering a continuous dialogue between contemporary practice and the unique historical context of Venice.

Berlendis Residency 2027: Venice Production Residency
The Berlendis Residency is a newly launched initiative designed to support artistic production and research within the heart of Venice. This call invites artists to immerse themselves in a 3-to-6-week residency at the award-winning Spazio Berlendis—a 300 m² former carpentry workshop in the Cannaregio district. The program aims to provide a space for deep reflection and creation, encouraging artists to engage with the history and stimuli of the Venetian environment. The residency culminates in a two-week solo exhibition at Marignana Project, a dedicated project room located in the prestigious Gothic palazzo district near the Guggenheim Collection.

The residency is open to all artistic languages and disciplines, including but not limited to:

- Conceptual: Writing, Research-based practices.
Eligibility
- Nationality: International (Open to artists of all nationalities).
- Age: Must be over 18 years old.
- Experience Level: Open to emerging, mid-career, and student artists.
- Language: Basic knowledge of English or Italian is required.
- Collectives: Groups of up to two people may apply.
Program Benefits & Awards
- Grant: A €2,000 expense contribution provided to the artist (intended to cover travel, food, and production costs).
- Accommodation: Private double room with a private bathroom located inside Spazio Berlendis, including all utilities.
- Studio Space: Access to a dedicated work studio within the 300 m² facility.
- Exhibition: A two-week solo exhibition at the Marignana Project space.
- Networking: Facilitated studio visits with curators, gallerists, journalists, and collectors to expand the artist’s professional network.
- Facilities: Full access to a kitchen, laundry facilities, and climate-controlled living/working areas.

A €25.00 administrative fee is required.

Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the following via email:
- Application Form
- Portfolio: A comprehensive overview of previous work.
- Project Proposal: A draft or outline of the research/work intended for the residency.
- Motivation Letter: Included within the application form.
- Valid ID: Copy of passport or national identity card.
- Proof of Payment: Receipt of the €25 application fee.

Additional Details
- Guest Policy: Artists are permitted to bring one guest (family member or partner).
- Donation: There is no obligation to donate artwork to the gallery at the end of the term, though it is welcome.
- Logistics: While the organization provides a €2,000 grant, the artist is responsible for any costs exceeding this amount. Shipping of created works back to the artist’s home studio is the responsibility of the artist.
