Berlin Art Week / Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH. The FEATURED section complements the existing network of partner museums, galleries, and collections within the festival program, highlighting the artistic quality and diversity of the city.

Title & Description:

Applications are open for the Berlin Art Week 2026 FEATURED Open Call.

This open call allows a selection of special projects to participate in Berlin Art Week. Selected project organizers will be included as official partners in the festival week's program and integrated into all of Berlin Art Week's communication activities. There are no thematic restrictions or limitations on specific media within contemporary art production.

Eligibility:

  • Who: Independent project groups, project spaces and initiatives, municipal art institutions, art organizations, and other actors in the contemporary Berlin art scene. (Note: Repeat applications after previous participation are possible).
  • Physical Space: You MUST have your own suitable exhibition space in Berlin. Individual artists are eligible only if they have their own exhibition space. Berlin Art Week does not have its own exhibition spaces and cannot arrange spaces for potential participants.
  • Timing: Program contributions MUST commence during Berlin Art Week (September 9–13, 2026) or constitute a special program within the festival week. Programs with durations that begin before the festival week are strictly ineligible.
  • Commercial Exclusions: Purely commercial formats are excluded from participation. Openings during the festival week should be free of charge.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Promotion & Visibility: Integration into all of Berlin Art Week's communication activities across all channels (website, social media, etc.).
  • Featured Night (Optional): On Friday, September 11, 2026 (6:00 PM to 10:00 PM), projects have the opportunity to present themselves together with extended opening hours and special programs.
  • Financial Note: Berlin Art Week does NOT charge any participation fees. However, they also do NOT cover the costs of realizing your project.

Application Requirements:

Submissions require the following information to be entered into the online form:

  1. Name and short text about the institution / exhibition venue.
  2. Information about the exhibition / special program (title, opening, duration, short concept).
  3. Contact person and Authorized signatory details.
  4. Images: Up to 5 informative images (including images of the premises). Format: JPG only. Minimum image size: landscape 1000 px wide / portrait 700 px wide. (Images are uploaded via a separate Razuna upload link located within the online form).

How to Apply?

Submit your application via the official Typeform online application portal. (Note: You can return to filled fields, but if you close the form before submitting, data will not be saved).

  • Applications Open: March 17, 2026 (Discrepancy in publisher text).
  • Application Deadline: May 27, 2026, at midnight.
  • Notification of Results: Early July 2026.
  • Berlin Art Week Dates: September 9–13, 2026.
  • FEATURED NIGHT: September 11, 2026 (6:00 PM – 10:00 PM).
