The BIG SEE Architecture Awards are organized by BIG SEE, a platform based in Southeast Europe, to promote creative and business potential in architecture and design. Initially focused on the region, it has grown to have a global reach, celebrating sustainable, innovative, and socially responsible design.

The awards encompass a wide range of architectural projects, including residential, cultural, educational, and public buildings, and recognize achievements in sustainability, functionality, and creative design.

Information & Application Details:

  • Registration Deadlines:

    • Regular: January 19 – March 15, 2025
    • Latecomers: March 16 – April 13, 2025
    • Award Ceremony: May 22-23, 2025, in Portorož, Slovenia.

  • Entry Fees:

    • Regular: €200 per project
    • Latecomers: €300 per project

 

Eligibility:

  • Projects must be completed within the last 3 years.
  • Submissions can be made by authors, clients, suppliers, or contractors.
  • Multiple projects can be submitted, but each project requires a separate entry form and fee.

 

Theme:

The competition focuses on innovative architecture that addresses climate change, sustainability, cultural awareness, and functionality. Categories range from residential to public and industrial buildings, as well as open spaces and infrastructure.

 

How to Apply:

  1. Fill out the online application form.
  2. Prepare project files and a statement.
  3. Submit the form and make the entry fee payment.
  4. Submit before the deadline, ensuring all required materials (descriptions and images) are uploaded.

 

Submission Requirements:

  • Project Description: Text-based description of the project.
  • Images: Visual representation of the project.
  • Entry Fee: Required for the application to be accepted.

 

Selection Process:

  • Judging Criteria: Projects will be judged on:
    • Innovation, design originality, and intelligent use of space.
    • Environmental sustainability and cultural sensitivity.
    • Functionality: How well the project achieves its stated goals.
  • The jury may recategorize projects if necessary, and the decision is final.
