Short Description
Bluebox is a dance / choreographic organization based in Vienna (Austria). The Artist-in-Residency (AIR) format is part of their programming to support up-and-coming choreographers/artists whose work shows promise in the contemporary dance field. This residency gives selected artists access to studio time, working with Bluebox dancers, and usually results in some sharing or presentation of work
We are pleased to publish our annual Artist-in-Residence Call, inviting artists from outside our network who are interested in bringing their artistic universe to blueboxhub in Vienna, Austria.

Program Benefits & Awards
As part of the Bluebox AIR (Artist-in-Residence) format, we select artists whose careers we believe in and wish to support. The award is granted by our artistic direction through various partner platforms, including choreographic competitions and festivals.
- Studio Residency – We provide studio space and accommodation for one week of research or rehearsal. The accommodation can host up to 3 artists (1 large room and 1 smaller room).
- Ensemble Residency – You will work with our dancers for one week (25 hours) and receive accommodation, an artistic fee of €800, plus a €200 travel voucher. + public transport ticket for your stay.
