Bosch Parade 2026, an immersive floating art parade in the spirit of Hieronymus Bosch, artists, designers, performers, and makers from around the world to explore imperfections in society through collaborative art. This unique event transforms the waters of ‘s-Hertogenbosch into a moving artistic spectacle inspired by the works of Hieronymus Bosch. Taking place from June 18 to 21, 2026, in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the event is guided by curator David Bade under the theme “Powered by Defect.”

Eligibility:

  • Open to artists from all disciplines, collectives, clubs, and associations.
  • Must be a professional artist with a relevant higher education qualification or at least three years of demonstrable experience.
  • Communities, clubs, and associations may apply and will be paired with an artist.
  • Preference is given to artists who engage in participatory and collaborative processes.

 

Theme: “Powered by Defect”

  • Focuses on imperfection in society—be it social, political, environmental, or personal.
  • Encourages artists to partner with communities to transform defects into artistic expressions.
  • The works should align with Bosch’s themes of duality: where triumph meets failure, beauty meets decay.

 

How to Apply:

  • Submit an outline proposal (completed works are not accepted).
  • Proposals should explore a defect and involve collaboration with a community.
  • Include sketches, concept descriptions, and plans for public engagement.
  • Applications must answer Bosch Parade’s guiding questions.
  • Submit through the official Bosch Parade website.

 

Submission Requirements:

  • Indication of community involvement.
  • Explanation of how the work fits within a parade format.
