Short Description

PERSPEKTIVE is a Franco-German collection for contemporary art and architecture initiated in 2014 by the Bureau of Visual Arts of the French Institute of Germany and the French Embassy in Germany.

PERSPEKTIVE is based on the desire to intensify artistic cooperation between the two countries. It is constituted on the common basis of financial resources of the French Institute, the Ministry of Culture and the Goethe-Institut.

The fund consists of two separate formats:

  • a call for applications for French and German project leaders in the field of visual arts for cooperation projects
  • a competition of architectural ideas aimed at architects, urban planners, landscapers, designers and artists based in France or Germany

Eligibility

PERSPEKTIVE promotes, design and dissemination of contemporary works and innovative architectural ideas, but also the internationalization of the art scene in France and Germany.

PERSPEKTIVE support is aimed at specific projects that promote exchange and dialogue between France and Germany, such as debates, collaborations, performances, exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions, or festivals.

The invited participants must be professionals in the field of visual arts.
The support specifically targets French (or France-based) professionals working in Germany and German (or Germany-based) professionals working in France.

Projects must be carried out by a German or French institution or cultural organization with legal status (museum, art association, art center, architecture center, project space, artist-run space, architecture agency, gallery).

Projects carried out by individuals or by/with students from universities or art schools are not eligible.

Program Benefits & Awards

PERSPEKTIVE support may cover:
— Travel costs of French (or France-based) participants to Germany, and of German (or Germany-based) participants to France
— Honoraria, accommodation, and living expenses for French (or France-based) participants in Germany, and for German (or Germany-based) participants in France
— Communication and publication costs (press relations, graphic design, advertising, printing, translation)
— Technical and transport costs related to events

PERSPEKTIVE does not fund the production of artworks.

PERSPEKTIVE provides a maximum of 50% of the total project budget, with a maximum grant of €10,000 per project.
