Organizer Information:

Proyecto´ace is an independent, non-profit cultural center based in the Colegiales neighborhood of Buenos Aires. Founded to foster contemporary artistic practice, the center acts as a hub for international cross-pollination. Their headquarters features specific architectural spaces—such as the Terrace—which serve as dynamic laboratories for artistic intervention. The organization values diversity and aims to demystify the work of the artist by embedding it directly into the fabric of the building and the city.

Description:

Applications are open year-round for the [Palimpsest Project] Mural Painting Residency. This residency is conceived as a "work in progress" or a living organism. The concept draws from the definition of a palimpsest: an ancient document where original writing has been erased to make room for new writing, yet traces of the old remain. In this spirit, artists are invited to intervene on the walls of the Proyecto´ace terrace by dialoguing with, overlapping, or superimposing their work over previous murals. It is an act of "superposition of many hands," where the wall constantly mutates. The goal is to achieve a "new awakening" of what is already there, turning the creative act into a collaborative history of the space.
