Carmela Loiacono is an art curator and historian who organizes international exhibitions and cultural events. Her work focuses on promoting contemporary art while engaging with themes of identity, authenticity, and social dialogue. Carmela has experience coordinating exhibitions that bring together artists from diverse cultural and artistic backgrounds.
Title & Description:
NEW HORIZONS – Authenticity, Resilience and Renewal is an international art exhibition exploring the human capacity for transformation, rebirth, and self-expression. Artists are invited to present works that reflect the journey beyond personal and societal limits, embracing vulnerability as a source of strength and creative power. The exhibition encourages reflection, dialogue, and new perspectives, positioning art as a guide for renewal. Selected works will be showcased at Casa Cava in Matera, Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue 2026, emphasizing a connection between contemporary art and the city’s historical context. The exhibition seeks to highlight authenticity, resilience, and the ability to embrace change while maintaining individual artistic voices.

Eligibility:
Open to Italian and international artists and collectives. There are no restrictions regarding age, gender, or career stage.

Application Fee:
Submission is free. Selected artists will be informed of a participation fee, determined by the size and type of their works. Payment is required only after selection.

- Artist statement or biography (max 250 words)
- Artwork description (max 300 words, including title, year, medium, dimensions, technical/logistical requirements)
- Visual or video documentation of the artwork (high-resolution images, video links, or digital files)
- Portfolio or website link (if available)
