Organizer Information

Created by OHT (Office for a Human Theatre), the Nomadic School emerged in 2020 around the Little Fun Palace—a mobile architecture inspired by Cedric Price and Joan Littlewood. OHT focuses on bridging the distance between art institutions and the landscape, reinventing pedagogical models to foster active and interrelated artistic exchange. The project is supported by a diverse team of mentors ranging from writers and choreographers to mountain hut managers and food researchers.

Title & Description

Nomadic School 2026: Alternative Pedagogy in the Italian Alps.

This alternative pedagogy project is rooted in the Alps and the performing arts, curated by Filippo Andreatta. Inhabiting the Adamello Brenta group at Rifugio Carè Alto (2,450 meters above sea level), the school functions as a laboratory where the alpine territory is an active factor in the development of performative practices. The 2026 edition focuses on Spatial Creation—how performative practices create space both within and beyond the theatre institution—and the intersection of artistic practices with climate and social issues. Participants engage in a horizontal, non-hierarchical environment of research, life, and study.
