Short Description
The ZADIK │ Central Archive for German and International Art Market Research, in cooperation with the Society for the Promotion of ZADIK e.V. the Carte Blanche Fellowship 25/26 is looking for an artist who will deal with ZADIK archival holdings as part of an artistic research project. In addition to the fee, the Carte Blanche Fellow also receives support from the team of the Central Archive for German and International Art Market Research in working with the selected archive holdings. The aim is to engage artistically with ZADIK archival materials that promote a deeper understanding of artistic perspectives on the themes and contents of the archive and its holdings. The framework may be freely set in the sense of artistic research by the Carte Blanche Fellow himself/herself.
As part of the 30th anniversary of ZADIK, an Artistic Research project was already realized at ZADIK in 2022 by artists from the ZOO collective. This showed that an archive can also be fruitful for artistic production.
The Artistic Research Fellowship Carte Blanche of ZADIK would like to build on this and give artists the opportunity to research in the holdings of ZADIK and to realize an artistic work in examination and connection to the archive holdings. Carte Blanche here means creating “free space for artistic research”. As part of the fellowship, you will have the opportunity to develop an independent artistic project and present it to the public in the Intermezzo room of ZADIK from April 15 to July 15, 2026. You can use the space and the archive holdings freely for your own artistic practice.
