Center for American Art Summer Fellow
Short Description
The Philadelphia Museum of Art invites applications for the Wallis Annenberg Curatorial Fellowship in the Center for American Art. This 10‑week, full-time seasonal fellowship (May 19 – August 29, 2025) provides entry-level curatorial experience with a focus on American art. Fellows will support two distinct projects:
Fellowship 1: Working on American painting and sculpture (including Indigenous arts) from the mid-19th century to circa 1960 to assist with reinstallation of the American galleries opening in early 2026.
Fellowship 2: Assisting with a special loan exhibition on American art from 1876–1926 related to the Arts and Crafts Movement, scheduled for spring 2026.
Position Type: Seasonal, Entry Level
Stipend: $5,500 for the duration of the fellowship
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Term: 10 weeks (May 19, 2025 – August 29, 2025)
Reporting To: Robert L. McNeil, Jr., Senior Curator of American Art and Director, Center for American Art

Eligibility:
Graduate students in art history or related fields with a strong interest in American art are encouraged to apply.
