The Cultural Foundation Schloss Wiepersdorf organizes an interdisciplinary and international fellowship program located in a historic rural castle about 75 kilometers south of Berlin. The foundation is dedicated to fostering art, culture, and science by providing creators and scholars with dedicated time for research, production, and exchange.

Applications are open for the Schloss Wiepersdorf 2027 Residency Fellowships.

This program offers three-month residencies for both individual creators and collaborative groups (a fellow plus up to two guests). Fellows are provided with living spaces, study spaces, and meals within the historic estate, which features barrier-free options. The residency focuses on supporting the implementation of planned projects, related research, and networking with local partners. Fellows are also encouraged to participate in events and presentations at the castle during their stay.

Eligibility:

  • Who: Professional artists, writers, and academics (including doctoral and post-doctoral students). Regular university students are not eligible.
  • Scope: International. (Applicants must have proficiency in English or German).
  • Restrictions: Those who have received a Wiepersdorf fellowship within the last two years cannot apply.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Stipend: €1,200 EUR per month, plus a one-time grant of €480 EUR to cover material expenses.
  • Workspace & Accommodation: A private living/study space and three meals a day. A dedicated studio will be made available to Fine Arts fellows (subject to capacity).
  • Support: Visa costs will be covered for fellows from countries requiring a visa for Germany.

  • Basic costs are fully funded. Meals for visiting family members or guests are subject to a separate fee.

Application Requirements:

Applications must be submitted online. Requirements include a project description outlining the work to be carried out on-site and appropriate work samples based on your discipline. (Ensure all work samples are submitted in either English or German).
