circusnext is a leading European platform supporting emerging circus artists. Founded to encourage artistic experimentation and risk-taking, it provides a platform for the next generation of circus creators to develop and present their work. Through annual open calls, residencies, workshops, and touring opportunities, circusnext fosters professional growth, international networking, and European visibility. The organization operates in partnership with multiple cultural institutions and festivals across Europe, including France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, and is supported by the Creative Europe Programme.
Title & Description
circusnext 2027 – Call for Emerging Circus Projects invites emerging circus authors to submit proposals for works currently in development. The open call seeks projects that push artistic boundaries, experiment with new forms, and challenge conventional circus practices. Selected artists will receive financial, creative, and professional support to develop their creation. The program also provides mentorship, residencies, lab sessions, and European touring opportunities, enabling artists to refine their work and reach wider audiences. Projects are encouraged to explore interdisciplinary approaches, collaborative processes, and innovative storytelling, contributing to the evolution of contemporary circus.

Eligibility
- International: Artists from Creative Europe countries and Switzerland
- Professional Level: Emerging circus authors with 1–3 prior creations
- Project Stage: Works in progress; premiere must not occur before September 2027
- Discipline: Open to all circus-related disciplines, including cross-disciplinary works
- Age: No age limit
