The Académie des beaux-arts and the Cité internationale des arts have joined forces to offer high-level residency programs in Paris. These programs foster international mobility and provide both financial and professional support for artists, offering tailored assistance and access to the French artistic network.

Applications are open for the 2026–2027 Residency Programmes.
This initiative offers highly supported residencies across three distinct programs: Visual Arts, Architecture & Landscape, and Choreography. Laureates will be provided with live-in studios in the heart of Paris (at either the Montmartre or Marais sites), alongside substantial living and production grants.

Eligibility:
- General Requirements: Open to artists of all nationalities, living in France or abroad. There is no age limit. (Note: Artists who have already benefited from a residency at the Cité internationale des arts are NOT eligible).
- Visual Arts: Open to all disciplines (painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, drawing, cinema, AV). Must demonstrate at least 5 years of professional practice AND have had a solo exhibition and/or participated in an international art fair.
- Architecture & Landscape: Open to architects and landscape designers. Must demonstrate at least 5 years of professional practice AND hold a bachelor’s degree in architecture.
- Choreography: Open to choreographers. Must demonstrate at least 5 years of professional practice AND have produced at least one professional dance performance.
- Collectives: Collective applications are accepted (but will share a single studio, living allowance, and production grant).
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Financial Support: A monthly living allowance of €1,500 gross, plus a production grant of up to €5,000 (delivered with prior agreement and supporting documents).
- Workspace & Accommodation: * Visual Arts: A ~50 m² live-in studio at the Montmartre site (10-month residency).
- Architecture & Landscape: A ~35 m² live-in studio at the Marais site (5-month residency).
- Choreography: A ~60 m² live-in studio at the Marais site, plus access to rehearsal studios (5-month residency).
- Note: Live-in studios can accommodate up to two adults and one child up to 10 years old (additional fees apply for accompanying persons). Transportation and moving expenses are not covered.
Application Requirements:
Applications must be submitted online in French or English and include:
- A complete CV (max 4 pages, PDF).
- An artistic file (max 15 pages, PDF) with embedded media files or links.
- A Note of Intent justifying why current research requires a residency in Paris from an artistic and career perspective.
- One or two reference letters.
- For Architecture & Landscape only: A copy of the bachelor’s degree in architecture.
