Applications are open for Cliff Edge: Textile Art on the Brink.

This exhibition captures the precarious moment where textile art stands today: between tradition and innovation, craft and concept, material and message. Like the literal cliff edge of Cromer, the showcase explores how textile artists confront sudden shifts, high stakes, and the possibility of collapse or transformation. Work should explore themes of Disruption, Risk, or Tension.

Eligibility:

  • Who: Open to all textile artists.
  • Size Limits: Artists MUST bear in mind the specific size of the gallery when proposing work. Applicants should review the gallery plan, measurements, and photographs on the official website before applying.
  • Delivery: Selected work must be delivered to the gallery (preferably in person) on September 27 or September 29, 2026. If posting/using a courier, artists must coordinate with the gallery for specific details.
  • Collection: Work MUST be collected on Thursday, October 15 between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. The gallery has absolutely no storage space. If an artist requires a courier or a different day, this must be explicitly arranged in advance.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Exhibition: Showcase at Artspace on the Prom from October 2 – 12, 2026.
  • Events: A Private View reception and an "Artist in Conversation" event.
  • Sales: Artists may sell their work during the exhibition. Cromer Artspace takes a 20% commission on all sales.

Application Fee & Program Costs:

  • Application Fee: £8 for 1 piece, £12 for 2 pieces, or £15 for 3 pieces.
  • Logistics: Artists are responsible for all delivery and collection costs.
