Organizer Information
The residency is hosted by the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, one of Venice’s most established institutions dedicated to supporting emerging contemporary artists. The foundation has a long-standing role in providing studio spaces, residencies, and exhibition opportunities within the Venetian art ecosystem, with a strong focus on nurturing early-career practitioners.
This specific opportunity is part of the broader European collaboration project CreArt 3.0, which connects 13 European cities through the exchange of artistic practices and residency-based mobility. The project is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme, supporting transnational collaboration across visual, performing, and musical arts.
Through this framework, the residency aims to strengthen artistic mobility, foster cross-border dialogue, and provide young artists with direct access to Venice’s historical and contemporary art context.
Title & Description
CREART 3.0 Artist Residency – Venice (Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa)
This open call invites two young artists to participate in a five-week Residency in Venice, Italy, hosted at Palazzo Carminati in San Stae. Selected artists will be provided with dedicated working and living space, enabling them to research, develop, and produce new work in one of Europe’s most historically significant art cities.
The residency is part of the CreArt 3.0 #stringing_together initiative, which promotes contemporary artistic exchange across Europe. The programme emphasizes experimentation, artistic research, and the development of new work in response to Venice’s unique cultural environment.
Artists are expected to develop a project during their stay, culminating in a final presentation of the work created. The residency encourages reflection on artistic process, material development, and contextual engagement with the local Venetian art scene.
