Cultural Alleys (VšĮ Kultūros Alėjos) is an international cultural platform dedicated to exploring “Perspectives, Understanding, and Empathy.”
Their mission is to connect artists, cultural practitioners, and communities to foster plural narratives and cross-cultural dialogue.
They host the “Fragments of Becoming” open call to support artists whose work reflects cultural reflection, indigenous knowledge, and inclusive worldviews.

Title & Description

The Cultural Alleys – Fragments of Becoming Open Call
This open call invites artists from all disciplines to submit works for a virtual exhibition under the themes of Perspectives, Understanding, and Empathy.
Artists are encouraged to submit works that examine cultural identity, local stories, indigenous knowledge, and reflections on becoming.
The exhibition will be hosted online, allowing submissions in many forms (written, visual, audio, performance, etc.), and is intended to be inclusive of languages, scripts, and cultural contexts.

  • Photography / Video Art / Short Films (up to 5 minutes)

Eligibility

  • Artists from any country are welcome (international participation).
  • Emerging and established artists can apply. (There’s no restriction on career level.)
  • Artists working in or with indigenous, underrepresented, or culturally rooted practices are especially encouraged.
  • Up to 3 works per artist can be submitted.
  • AI-generated or AI-assisted content is not allowed.

Program Benefits & Awards

  • Selected works will be exhibited in a virtual exhibition (online) via Cultural Alleys’ platform.
  • Artists gain international exposure and increased visibility through Cultural Alleys’ network.
  • There is no mention of a cash prize, but the opportunity itself supports cultural exchange, storytelling, and community engagement.
  • Cultural Alleys offers the chance for artists to contribute to a thematic, socially resonant project and network with like-minded practitioners.

Application Requirements

  • Title and description of each work.
  • Up to 3 works per artist (as above).
  • File(s) of the work: images, written text, video, audio, etc., depending on the medium.
  • Language/cultural context note: if the work is in a non-English language or script, include an English translation or a short note explaining its cultural meaning.
  • Your name/collaborator names, and a short bio or CV.
  • Optionally, a note about your identity (e.g., if you identify as Indigenous or wish to acknowledge specific cultural heritage) for context.
  • If you need support with accessibility (alternative file formats, captioning, etc.), you can request it.
