The Art of Belonging
Home is both a place and a feeling. It can be the land where you were born, the country you left, the rooms where you slept as a child, or the place you long to return to.
It can be a family house, a temporary shelter, an imagined refuge, a memory, a loss, a dream, a longing, a belonging.
Home can be:
- A country
- A kitchen
- A neighborhood
- A person
- A landscape
- A city block
- Or the feeling of love, safety, distance, exile, renewal, or return
We invite photographers worldwide to interpret The Art of Belonging in any photographic style—documentary, fine art, portraiture, conceptual, abstract, architectural, environmental, or experimental.
Every approach is welcome. Every perspective is valued.

Awards and Features
Selected artists will have:
- Their work featured in the online exhibition on Decagon Gallery
- Inclusion in the professionally designed catalog (hardcopy available through Blurb)
- Promotion on Decagon’s website and social media platforms
Application Fee
- $5 for up to 4 images.
- $15 for up to 10 images
Entry Guidelines
- Presentation: All submitted photographs must be labeled "First Name-Last Name_title"
- Format: JPEG or JPG, 72 dpi, minimum size 2100 px on the longest side.
- Open to photographers age 18 and older, worldwide.
