Delfina Foundation, in partnership with El Espacio 23 / Jorge M. Pérez Collection, seeks to strengthen cultural exchange between Latin America, its diasporas, and the UK. Selected residents will join a cohort of international artists, curators, and thinkers in London, supported through a comprehensive program of talks, visits, and professional exchanges.

Title & Description:

Applications are open for a 12-Week Residency for Artists Living in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Related Diasporic Communities in the US.

This initiative will create fully funded residencies for artists from countries underrepresented in Delfina Foundation’s recent programs. This specific call will select two artists: one for the Autumn 2026 season and one for the Winter 2027 season. The residencies are "open" (non-thematic), providing time, space, and critical dialogue for independent research and practice development.

Eligibility & Strict Geographic Constraints:

  • Who: Artists holding at least a graduate-level qualification in the arts or a related field, with proficiency in English.
  • Geographic Requirement 1 (Latin America/Caribbean): Artists of Latin American and Caribbean nationality, living in the region. EXCEPTIONS: Artists living in Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, and Argentina are NOT eligible for this specific call (as they benefit from other dedicated Delfina residencies).
  • Geographic Requirement 2 (US Diaspora): Artists from any Latin American and Caribbean diasporic community (including the excluded countries listed above) who are currently living in the United States ARE eligible to apply.
  • Collectives: Delfina Foundation cannot host full collectives; duos/collectives must nominate a single member to represent them in residence.
  • Guests/Pets: Partners, children, dependents, and pets cannot be accommodated on-site.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Travel: A return economy-class flight, UK airport transfers, and reimbursement of visa fees (if required).
  • Living Support: A living allowance of £40 per day and a travel pass for London’s public transport network.
  • Production: A materials budget of £1,200.
  • Accommodation & Workspace: A single bedroom with a desk at Delfina Foundation (a shared house hosting up to 8 residents with communal bathrooms, kitchen, library, and dining room).
  • Professional Development: Guided visits to institutions, organized presentations, crits, portfolio reviews, and additional mentoring/virtual exchanges provided by curators from El Espacio 23.

  • Participant Costs: Selected residents are required to obtain their own comprehensive travel/medical insurance at their own expense prior to traveling.
