Short Description
Through a competitive selection process, artists will loan DEN an existing large-scale sculpture or installation to be temporarily displayed. The sculpture or installation should seek to create a sense of place, elevate the customer experience and create a memorable impression of Denver and the region for travelers and staff.
The mission of DEN Arts is to engage, entertain and educate the public through permanent public artworks, rotating exhibitions and pop-up displays. The Rotating Sculpture Program strives to be a public art incubator for artists in varying stages of their careers to gain experience with the complexities of installing and displaying art in a public setting. Through the Rotating Sculpture Program DEN will act as a platform for artists to transition from exhibition and gallery opportunities to secure Public Art commissions.
Duration
Selected artwork/installation will be displayed at the designated site for a duration of 6 months. Following display, DEN will not store, purchase or accession the artwork into the permanent collection.
Site
DEN has selected Concourse B East for the display of the selected rotating sculpture. An artist or artist team will have the opportunity to activate a 20’ x 42’ site with a floor-based installation.
