Title & Description
Development Officer – Fundraising, Partnerships & Income Development Role
This opportunity is for a Development Officer to join Theatre Peckham’s Development and Partnerships team. The role focuses on supporting the organisation’s fundraising strategy, with a strong emphasis on writing funding applications, cultivating donor relationships, and supporting income diversification strategies.
The postholder will play a key role in securing funding from trusts and foundations, corporate partners, and individual donors, while also contributing to evaluation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. The role supports both small-to-mid scale funding applications (up to £30,000) and contributes to broader strategic funding bids.
The position is designed to strengthen Theatre Peckham’s long-term sustainability, ensuring continued investment in youth programmes, artistic productions, and community engagement initiatives. It combines strategic fundraising work with hands-on writing, relationship management, and data-informed reporting.
The Role Overview
- Job Title: Development Officer
- Salary: £28,000 – £33,000 per annum (pro-rata, depending on experience)
- Contract Type: Part-time (28 hours per week, excluding unpaid breaks)
- Reporting To: Head of Development & Partnerships
- Working With: Programme teams, funding partners, and internal departments
- Working Pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (10 am–6 pm, including 1-hour unpaid break)
- Contract Nature: Permanent (subject to organisational terms and standard employment conditions)
- Safeguarding Requirement: Enhanced DBS check required or valid certificate (issued within the last 6 months)
Position & Tasks
- Writing and submitting funding applications for grants up to £30,000 (core, project-based, and unrestricted funding)
- Supporting larger-scale funding bids in collaboration with senior leadership
- Developing strong funding narratives that reflect Theatre Peckham’s mission and impact
- Collecting and translating programme data into compelling evaluation reports
- Maintaining relationships with existing funders through updates, reporting, and stewardship
- Researching new funding opportunities across trusts, foundations, corporate partners, and individual giving
- Supporting fundraising campaigns, cultivation events, and donor engagement activities
- Managing prospect pipelines, fundraising calendars, and tracking systems
- Working closely with programme teams to gather impact evidence and case studies
- Contributing to organisational learning through monitoring and evaluation processes

Eligibility
