dokKa research grant
Short Description
The dokKa research scholarship, funded by the Ursula Blicke Foundation, supports artistic-documentary projects in documentary film and audio documentation. It is a one-time research grant of up to 5,000 euros, designed to fund the research phase of projects that pursue an innovative and artistic approach, rather than covering production costs.
Grant Amount: Up to 5,000 euros
Funding Focus:
Film Projects: Cinema documentaries that are research-intensive and artistically innovative
Audio Projects: Acoustically and formally innovative audio documentaries
Usage Restrictions: Funds are solely for research; production costs cannot be covered.
Post-Research Requirement: Submit a research report (PDF) within 24 months after acceptance.
The scholarship encourages projects that adopt an innovative artistic approach to documentary storytelling—whether through cinema or audio—emphasizing rigorous research and creative exploration.
Submission Requirements:
A text description of the research project (max. 1,500 characters, including spaces)
Detailed information on the planned research period
A cost breakdown for up to 5 items (each item: one line of text and an amount)
A single PDF file containing your CV, reference projects, and any optional additional information (such as the planned implementation, artistic approach, etc.).
Any additional explanatory material may be attached within the PDF.
Selection Process:
Projects are evaluated and selected by a jury as part of the dokKa festival.
If selected, travel and accommodation costs for a festival visit will be covered.
The jury will focus primarily on the clarity, feasibility, and innovative potential of the research project text.
