About the Echoes of Ice

Echoes of Ice is curated by Alice Sowa and Eva Bjarnadóttir and hosted in collaboration with Vatnajökull National Park, supported by the Southern Development Fund. The exhibition aims to foster dialogue between art and ecology, highlighting Iceland’s glaciers through interdisciplinary creative practice.

Echoes of Ice: What Was, What Is, What Could Be.

In recognition of the UN’s declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Glacier Preservation, this exhibition invites artists, scientists, and creatives to explore our evolving relationship with Iceland’s glaciers. Works will be presented both in-person at Skaftafell National Park, Iceland, and online. Submissions should reflect on glacial change, through memory, present-day realities, or imagined futures, across any medium.
