Organizer Information

The Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill has served as a vibrant hub for the arts on the Outer Cape for over 50 years. Located in the uniquely beautiful setting of Truro, Massachusetts, the center provides an inclusive and supportive community for students, artists, and writers of all levels. In 2017, Castle Hill expanded its mission by acquiring the Edgewood Farm Artist Residency site, a historic 7.5-acre property adjacent to the Cape Cod National Seashore. This satellite campus is dedicated to fostering the "artistic process" by offering quiet, contemplative spaces where creators can regain a connection to the natural world and engage in deep intellectual and creative growth.

Title & Description

Artist Residency at Edgewood Farm
The Edgewood Farm Residency is a self-directed program designed for emerging and established artists across various disciplines. The residency provides uninterrupted time for artists to focus on their craft in a bucolic setting, within walking distance of the dunes, natural forests, and spectacular Atlantic beaches. The program emphasizes the development of artistic practice rather than final production, encouraging a dynamic exchange of ideas among a small cohort of peers (typically 3–6 artists at a time). Residents are encouraged to draw inspiration from the fragile and beautiful coastal environment of Cape Cod.
