Short Description
etc. gallery announces an open call for etc. RESIDENCY for artists, curators, theorists or academics who focus on theoretical or practical research and production of the moving image.
etc. gallery systematically supports the work of contemporary artists working with the moving image, provides professional reflection on the medium and contributes to the improvement of its institutional background.
Eligibility
The aim of the residency programme is not to create a new audiovisual or theoretical work, but to offer an opportunity for sustainable, rigorous and concentrated work and the chance to carry out individual research. The content may include, for example, studying the moving image theory, preparation of a curatorial concept, writing a dissertation, research, preparation of a script or a new audiovisual work. At the end of the residency, an output for the public will take place depending on the nature of the research and experience basis of the residents. The project offers one month-long residency during summer months in etc. gallery space. The residency does not include accommodation.
Submission Requirements
- a brief description of the research together with the aim of the residency (1 norm page)
- CV/portfolio
- a final output depending on the nature of the research or experience basis of the residents (e.g. lecture, workshop, screening, work-in-progress exhibition, seminar, internal discussion, etc.)
- a short final report on the residency
