Applications are open for the EWRKS 3-Month Ceramics Residency.

This three-month residency invites an artist to join a dynamic studio community and focus strictly on the development of a new body of small-scale ceramic work. It is an opportunity to explore new ideas, refine techniques, and immerse oneself in a creative environment that fosters collaboration and growth.

Eligibility:

  • Who: Artists at all stages of their career working with ceramics. International artists are welcome to apply.
  • Scale: This opportunity is strictly centered on the development of small-scale ceramic work. Applicants must consider how their proposal responds to this focus.
  • Medium: Applicants must demonstrate a clear engagement with clay. This opportunity is exclusively for ceramics.
  • Visas: While international artists can apply, Earthworks Ceramic Studios cannot support or sponsor visas.
  • Accommodation: Accommodation is NOT provided. Artists are strictly responsible for arranging and paying for their own housing in London for the duration of the residency.
  • Materials: Clay and other materials are NOT included. Selected artists must purchase their own clay and any additional materials required.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Workspace & Equipment: Free participation with access to shared studio facilities, including a slab roller and extruder wheels.
  • Firings: Firings to 1000°C (bisque) and 1260°C (stoneware) are included as part of the program free of charge. (Note: Firings to other temperatures are available at an additional cost).

Application Requirements:

Applicants must prepare the following materials:

  1. A portfolio featuring 5 images of recent ceramic work.
  2. A current CV detailing your artistic background and experience.
  3. An artist statement outlining your practice, creative goals, and intentions for the residency.

  • Application Deadline: May 31, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
  • Notification of Results: By June 8, 2026.
  • Residency Dates: July – September 2026 (3 months).
