transmediale e.V. invites applications for the position of festival curator for the 2026 edition. The curator will be responsible for developing the festival’s concept, theme, and program, focusing on the intersection of art, technology, science, society, and politics. The festival aims to foster critical reflection on art and digital culture, bringing together artists, researchers, and thinkers from diverse backgrounds. The festival will take place from January 27 to February 1, 2026.

Eligibility:
- Curatorial experience and a strong vision for art, technology, and societal issues
- Knowledge of international contemporary and media art
- Fluent in English or German
- Commitment to transmediale’s values, including human rights and rejection of discrimination
- Previous experience in leading cultural projects is advantageous
- Collaborative mindset and ability to develop and document curatorial concepts
Theme:
The curator will develop a program that integrates academic discourse, workshops, artistic projects, and discussions around digital cultures, focusing on the intersection of art, technology, and society.

Selection Process:
