Freelands Foundation Programme Assistant
The
Programme Assistant role is a full-time position designed for early-career professionals seeking practical experience in arts administration and education. The role involves supporting the delivery of public programs, workshops, grant application processes, open calls, and assisting in the management of the foundation’s Library. This position offers exposure to a range of Visual Arts, educational initiatives, and collaborative projects with partner organizations, making it an ideal entry point into cultural sector careers.
Role Overview
- Position: Programme Assistant
- Salary: £33,639 per annum
- Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Reporting To: Head of Education
- Location: Freelands Foundation, Central London, EC1Y 8LX
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10am – 6pm, with occasional evenings/weekends (TOIL applicable)
- Key Focus Areas: Administration, program delivery, grant support, public engagement, education, and library management
Position & Tasks
- Assist in the administration and execution of Visual Arts programming and projects across the foundation.
- Support the delivery of workshops and public events, ensuring smooth operational logistics.
- Facilitate the foundation’s open calls for off-site programs and grant applications.
- Collaborate with the Programming, Digital, and Grant-making teams to ensure coordinated project management.
- Contribute to the maintenance and operation of the Library, including cataloguing and accessibility for public engagement.
- Aid in evaluation, reporting, and documentation of programs to track impact and effectiveness.
