Sedona Arts Center (SAC). Modeled after Chicago’s renowned Gallery 37 program, Gallery 928 engages aspiring artists in hands-on learning that builds both creative and professional skills.
Title & Description:
Applications are open for the Gallery 928 Youth Apprentice Artist Program.
This unique art apprenticeship program pairs teens with a master artist to create a public art mural for the Center. Apprentices gain experience in the public art process—from concept to completion—while developing teamwork, leadership, and presentation abilities. Participants also learn practical career skills such as resume building and public speaking.

Eligibility:
- Age Requirement: Applicants MUST be between 15 and 18 years of age.
- Participation: Participants must be able to complete the full program (Monday–Thursday, 9am to 3pm, June 1–25, 2026) in order to receive the college credits and stipend.
- Transportation: Transportation to and from the Sedona Arts Center is strictly the responsibility of the participant.
- Selection Limit: The program is highly competitive and limited to a maximum of 12 visual artists.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Stipend: Each selected apprentice will receive a $500 stipend from the Sedona Arts Center.
- College Credit: Participants will receive 3 free college credits through Yavapai College.
- Mentorship & Experience: Hands-on experience working with a master artist to create a public mural, plus career skill development.

Applicants must submit an online application that includes:
- Two letters of reference.
- Images of recent artwork.
- Completion of the online application form confirming interest and commitment.
