The Golden Turtle Design Contest is part of the Golden Turtle Festival, an annual international competition and exhibition dedicated to environmental creativity and wildlife conservation. Golden Turtle Design Contest – ECO-Posters Category
An open international competition inviting designers to submit original poster designs addressing ecological, environmental, or nature-related themes. Participants are judged on concept, visual execution, and relevance to ecology and conservation concerns. The competition progresses through online juried rounds, moving from registration to quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals, with selected works potentially shown in exhibitions and included in printed albums. Finalists and winners gain recognition through Festival events and associated partner awards.

Categories

Primary category: ECO-Posters (graphic design focused on environmental themes). Designers may submit up to 20 works, each entered in a single design category. Submitted image files must meet specific graphic standards (JPEG, 1920px longest side, max 3MB).

Eligibility

Open to all creators worldwide; there are no nationality restrictions. Professional jury members and contest organizers are excluded from participation. Individual designers or creative groups (e.g., studios or academic teams) with copyright ownership of submitted works may enter. The official contest languages are English and Russian.(

Application Requirements

  • Designer’s name and personal info via the online registration form.
  • Poster image file: JPEG format; 1920 pixels on its longest side; max 3MB.
  • Project description: An explanation of the idea, goals, and social importance of the work (minimum 200 characters).
    Each work must be original, created by the submitting author, and the submitter must have full rights and permissions. Up to 20 works per participant can be entered, with each design assigned to one category only. Posters must respect aspect ratio requirements (e.g., 2:3 if specified).

Additional Details

  • If a work advances to the semifinal/final round, designers must submit high-resolution originals suitable for printing (CMYK, specific file formats like EPS, AI, PSD, or TIFF; 300 dpi; prepared for 60×90 cm printing).
  • Submitted artworks may be used by the organizers in Festival publicity, catalogues, archives, and exhibitions with rights outlined in the contest’s license agreement.
  • Works that do not meet technical specifications, include inappropriate language, or fail to fulfill contest conditions may be disqualified.
  • Special categories awards may be selected by partnering sponsors from among finalists who did not place in main categories.
