Organizer Information:
Jordforbindelser is a three-year interdisciplinary research project (2024–2027) funded by VELUX Fonden. It is a collaboration between Institut for Kultur og Læring at Aalborg University and Andelsgaarde, a Danish association that supports and promotes regenerative agriculture. The project explores how sensory experiences and artistic practices can reshape our relationship to soil as a living ecosystem, fostering new connections between art, regenerative farming, anthropology, and citizens.
Title & Description:
Jordforbindelser x Andelsgaarde x Aalborg Universitet Artist Residency
Artists are invited to join the second cycle of this practice-based research residency focused on soil as a living ecosystem. Through sensory experiments, interdisciplinary collaboration, and co-creation with farmers and anthropologists, selected artists will explore how artistic practices can expand our sensory register toward soil-dwelling species, cultivate new interspecies collaborations, and develop engaging workshop formats that deepen public understanding of the global soil crisis and regenerative possibilities. The residency emphasises collective investigation rather than illustration, positioning artists as equal research partners.
