Title & Description

Hakoniemi Artist Residency 2026

This residency offers a peaceful, self-directed working environment inspired by the lakeside nature of the Finnish archipelago. The program seeks applicants with sustainable work plans and an interest in the natural environment. Artists can choose to stay at the remote Hakoniemi house in North Karelia, the Hako x Helsinki residency in the capital, or a combination of both. It is an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility, material inquiry, and a connection to Finnish history, and the source of inspiration provided by the inland islands of Northern Saimaa.
