Short Description
The Fondation Jacques Rougerie – Académie des beaux-arts Awards provide architects, designers, engineers, inventors and artists, a unique opportunity to propose innovative, daring and disruptive projects. They reward biomimetic, multidisciplinary architectural projects in 3 categories: “Coastal and rising waters”, “Sea” and “Space”.
These architectural projects, based on emerging advances and a forward-looking vision, will have to
respond to the major current challenges facing humanity for greater environmental, industrial and technical responsibility. They will have to take account of the sustainable development precepts and contribute to the integration of the sea, space and rising waters in the development of our society.
Eligibility
The competition is open to students, professionals, researchers, creators, artists, etc. A candidate can only
participate once in the 2025 competition, submitting a single project. Multiple applications will result into an automatic disqualification be it individual or collective participation.
People who took part in the organization and running of the competition, the experts, members of the jury and members of their families, employees of the Rougerie+Tangram Agency, members of the Academy, and correspondents, as well as agents of the Academy, cannot directly or not participate in the
competition.

Program Benefits & Awards
In 2025, the Fondation Jacques Rougerie– Académie des beaux-arts will reward candidates presenting an
architectural project related to the field of space, sea, coastal issues and rising waters, by awarding prizes
totaling 20,000 € (twenty thousand euros). Participants may compete either individually or in teams with the appointment of a project leader named “Agent” or “Project Leader”.
The amounts break down as follows:
- Fondation Jacques Rougerie “Architecture et Innovation related to coastal issues and rising waters”
Grand Prix: 5 000 € (five thousand euros) - Fondation Jacques Rougerie “Architecture and Innovation for the Sea” Grand Prix
5 000 € (five thousand euros) - Fondation Jacques Rougerie “Architecture and Innovation for Space” Grand Prix:
