Short Description Le Lieu de la Photographie is launching the Bourse de l'Image Photographique—a grant of €3,000 aimed at supporting a photographer’s research and artistic creation project. This funding opportunity encourages projects that challenge conventional photographic narratives and explore the medium’s contemporary forms and languages. Purpose: To fund the research phase or start-up of an artistic creation project in photography, documentary, or artistic writing. Projects must engage with photographic, documentary, or artistic writing that questions the photographic narrative and experiments with contemporary forms and languages.   Eligibility Open to any adult natural person (French or foreign) residing in France. Applicants must be fluent in French and able to prove their professional status as a photographer or artist.   How to Apply: Application Method: Submit applications exclusively by email to bip@galerielelieu.com using the subject line “BIP 2025 – SURNAME First name.”   Submission Requirements: Portfolio: A single PDF (max 10 MB) containing a recent CV (with contact details, biography, and previous projects). Project Note of Intent: A one-page PDF (max 10 MB) describing the project idea, with optional accompanying images if the project is underway. Portrait: A royalty-free JPG portrait (3000px). File Naming: Each document must be named in the format: LASTNAME_Firstname_BIP2025. Note: Incomplete applications will not be considered.   Selection Process: A pre-jury will review applications to select finalists. Finalists are then presented to a jury of five experts from the photography and art sectors: Patricia Morvan (cultural projects/exhibitions manager – Agence VU') Anne-Lise Broyer (photographer) Emmanuel Hermange (director of EESAB – Lorient site) Fabien Ribery (author, journalist, and art critic) Émilie Teulon (artistic director of Le Lieu de la Photographie) The jury will meet in April and announce the winner at the beginning of May. All candidates will be notified via email before the public announcement.   Program Benefits or Awards A one-time grant of €3,000 to support the research and artistic creation project.
