Organizer Information: The Leipzig International Art Programme (LIA) is a non-profit artist residency located at the historic Spinnerei Leipzig, a 10-hectare former cotton mill dating back to 1884. This site is now one of the most significant cultural complexes in Europe, housing over 120 studios, 13 galleries (including Eigen + Art), the art supply store boesner, and a contemporary art library. LIA offers a unique environment where artists can live and work alongside key figures in the art world, including Neo Rauch.
Title & Description: In cooperation with the State of Upper Austria, LIA is offering a three-month residency scholarship for one artist from Upper Austria. The residency is scheduled to take place from May to July 2026. The selected artist will be immersed in a dynamic international community. The program focuses on providing space for large-format work and fostering professional growth through monthly guest critiques led by curators and artists. The residency concludes with a summer exhibition at the Galerie archiv massiv on the Spinnerei grounds in July 2026, offering significant exposure.
