The Mark Tanner Sculpture Award (MTSA) is the UK’s most significant award for emerging sculptors, offering financial support and a solo exhibition. The award aims to support outstanding and innovative sculptural practices, focusing on process and materials.

Award Includes:
£10,000 grant (distributed in three payments over one year)
Solo exhibition at Standpoint Gallery
National touring program to partner venues across the UK
Mentorship and studio visits throughout the year
Eligibility
Open to UK-based sculptors
Students enrolled in BA or MA programs are not eligible
PhD/MPhil/MLitt/MRes students can apply
No age limit
Individual applications only (no joint or group submissions)

The award focuses on sculpture with an emphasis on material exploration, process, and innovation.

Selection Process
Stage 1: Online application review
Stage 2: Shortlisting of candidates
Stage 3: Interviews (April 10, 2025, at Standpoint Gallery)
Shortlisted artists present their work
References may be requested
Travel expenses reimbursed for shortlisted applicants
Note: Artists unable to attend the interview on the fixed date will be withdrawn from the selection process.
