Le Moulin du Got is a historic 15th-century paper mill in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, France, owned by the municipality and managed by the Moulin du Got association. Revived as a working mill, it serves as a center for traditional papermaking, printing, graphic arts, cultural activities, education, and heritage. The site preserves traditional techniques including handmade paper, letterpress printing, embossing, and engraving, and produces more than one tonne of art paper annually. It also welcomes approximately 15,000–17,000 visitors each year for tours, workshops, and exhibitions. The residency is organized with support from the French Ministry of Culture and Communication – DRAC Limoges, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, and the municipality of Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat.

Research & Creation Residency – Autumn/Winter 2026
Le Moulin du Got invites French-speaking artists and graphic designers to apply for a six-week research and creation residency taking place between 19 October 2026 and 27 February 2027.
The residency is designed as an opportunity for contemporary artists to engage with the mill's traditional paper, printing, and graphic-arts practices. Residents may develop an ongoing artistic investigation involving paper or printing, or develop a new project using the knowledge, tools, and techniques available at the mill.
The residency emphasizes research, experimentation, immersion, inspiration, dialogue, and artistic creation rather than the continuation of an editorial project. Selected artists will have access to traditional equipment and the guidance of papermakers and printers while developing their own artistic practice.

Eligibility
The residency is specifically intended for French-speaking artists and graphic designers. Applicants should demonstrate a strong artistic practice, commitment to their work, and an affinity with the techniques and environment of Le Moulin du Got.
Projects must focus on research and experimentation. Editorial projects will not be selected. The selection jury evaluates applicants based on artistic quality, commitment, and compatibility with the site's techniques.
For residents based in France, affiliation with or registration under Agessa, Maison des Artistes, or an equivalent social-security management organization is mandatory.

- Alternatively, the opportunity to present the research and creation process to the public or contribute to a publication jointly produced with the Moulin
The resident must dedicate half a day per week to sharing their work with the public, including school groups or other audiences.

Additional Details
The residency is primarily intended as a period of immersion and independent artistic development. The resident is responsible for everyday living expenses, including food and transportation during the residency, as well as any additional materials or tools not provided by the Moulin. The resident must also obtain civil liability and rental insurance covering the entire residency period.
The residency provides access to traditional craftsmanship and equipment, making an affinity with papermaking, printing, or graphic-art techniques particularly relevant to the application. The selection is made by a professional jury.
