Organizer Information:
Brussels Museums is the federation connecting over 120 museums across the Brussels-Capital Region. They organize Museum Night Fever, an annual event where around 30 museums open their doors from 7 PM to 1 AM, offering a festive and eclectic program in collaboration with young Brussels-based artists.
Title & Description:
Applications are open for Museum Night Fever 2026.
This event seeks to reflect the diversity of the Brussels artistic scene by giving space to underrepresented voices and focusing on accessibility and inclusion. Selected artists will partner directly with a participating museum to co-create unique, site-specific programming inspired by the museum’s space, collections, or exhibitions.
(Note: Intimate performances requiring small audiences or specific reservations are not suitable for this large-scale event. Proposals must be suitable for a large, diverse audience and be performed multiple times or continuously throughout the night).
Category:
Performance / Multidisciplinary Arts.
(All disciplines welcome: visual and plastic arts, dramatic arts, dance, performance, music, circus arts, slam poetry, VJs, DJs, etc.).
Eligibility:
- Geographic Requirement: You must be an individual or organization (collective, youth center, art school) resident in or active in Brussels.
- Age Limit: You must be between 16 and 35 years old (or be an organization producing artists within this age range).
- Accessibility: Because the audience is highly diverse, artistic proposals should ideally be multilingual, non-verbal, or universally accessible.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Compensation: All performances are paid. The exact rates are negotiated directly between the artist and their partner museum.
- Payment Terms: The agreed-upon amount is paid after the performance upon receipt of a valid financial document (e.g., an invoice, a volunteer reimbursement declaration, or material receipts).
Application Requirements & Process:
- Online Form: Complete the official application form.
- Supplemental Materials (Optional but Recommended): Send an artistic CV and/or a video presentation showcasing your work to
mnf@brusselsmuseums.be. - The Meet & Greet: Brussels Museums will select artists from the initial applications to attend a mandatory "Meet & Greet" on April 21, 2026 (8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Botanique). Here, museums will present their visions, and artists will have 1-on-1 time to pitch their ideas. (Note: The museums make the final programming decisions after this event).
