Short Description

The three annual scholarships are aimed at individuals who have not historically benefited from many opportunities to engage with the NEAC and aim to support those who face financial barriers in pursuing the arts in a professional capacity. There’s no application fee.

*Early-career artists include anyone who feels they are at the beginning stages of their professional artistic career, regardless of age (although applicants must be aged 18 and over and living in Great Britain).

Eligibility

Early-career artists* working in figurative painting, drawing or original printmaking are invited to apply for the NEAC Artist Scholarships 2025-26.

Artists must be aged 18 or over, based in Great Britain and working in figurative painting, drawing or original printmaking.

Program Benefits & Awards

The £5,000 award offers:

  • £5,000 scholarship award, paid in two instalments, to facilitate the artistic development of an early career artist
  • A year of close mentorship with leading figures of the NEAC
  • Free entry to all courses, classes and workshops run by the NEAC Education Programme
  • A selection of work created during the scholarship year will be showcased in the NEAC Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries in 2026


The two £500 AWARDs offer:

  • £500 scholarship award
