Organizer Information

The NEON was founded in 2013 by collector and entrepreneur Dimitris Daskalopoulos. NEON is dedicated to promoting contemporary culture by activating public spaces in Athens and across Greece, supporting innovative artistic projects, and fostering engagement between artists, institutions, and the public. The organization also emphasizes education, research, and the production of contemporary art, making art accessible to wider audiences.

NEON Grants Scheme 2026 | Open Call

NEON invites applications for its 2026 grants program, supporting innovative artistic productions. The program commissions new work in Contemporary Art Exhibitions (solo or group) and Performance & Dance Production, with projects to be realized either in Greece or internationally. Each grant encourages experimental, public-engaging, and thought-provoking works that advance contemporary artistic practice and enrich audience experiences.

The scheme prioritizes projects involving Greek artists and/or curators and aims to stimulate both local and global dialogue through the arts. Applicants are expected to propose original projects that push creative boundaries and contribute to the public appreciation of contemporary art.

  • Visual Art (Contemporary Art Exhibitions)
  • Performance (Dance Production)
  • Curatorial (for projects including curatorship)
  • Interdisciplinary Arts (cross-disciplinary projects encouraged)

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be Non-Profit Organizations based in Greece, including:
    • Public or private institutions and organizations
    • Public or private arts bodies
  • At least one Greek artist or curator must participate in the project
  • The proposed project must be completed by the end of June 2027

Note: Individual artists cannot apply directly; the applicant must be a legally registered non-profit.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

  • Completed application form in Greek or English
  • Project proposal including:
    • Concept description
    • Format (Exhibition, Performance, Dance Production)
    • Participating artists/curators
    • Implementation plan and timeline
  • Documentation confirming the non-profit status of the applicant organization
  • Confirmation of participation of at least one Greek artist or curator
