Organizer Information:
Nes Artist Residency is located in the unique coastal town of Skagaströnd, Iceland. The organization strives to provide an inclusive space for creators of all backgrounds to deepen or re-evaluate their practice while immersed in the striking Icelandic landscape.

Applications are now open for the Nes Long Term Residency (2026/2027).
This program offers stays ranging from 1 to 6 months. Nes highly values work that demonstrates curiosity and experimentation. While proposals connected to Skagaströnd and Iceland are appreciated, site-specific work is not mandatory. The selection panel prioritizes a clear description of materials, technique, and intention over traditional markers of professional achievement, making this an excellent opportunity for artists at all career stages.

Eligibility:
- Who: Artists working in any field and from any background.
- Scope: International. (Note: Artists are responsible for verifying their own visa requirements. Starting in late 2026, visitors from 60 visa-exempt countries will be required to submit an ETIAS travel authorization to enter Europe).
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Workspace: All accepted artists are provided an individual workspace within a shared open-plan studio.
- Specialized Facilities: Writers-in-residence gain access to the Research Library; dancers and performers can utilize the BioPol Dance Studio; and musicians have access to the local music school.

Program Costs:
Monthly residency fees vary by season (summer rates apply June–August) and facility needs. Fees include accommodation and studio space:
- Single Room (Standard): €850 – €950 EUR.
- Single Room + Music School/Piano: €1,000 – €1,100 EUR.
- Single Room + Private Dance Studio: €1,450 – €1,500 EUR.
- Double Room (for two, 1 shared studio): €1,250 – €1,350 EUR.
- Double Room (for two, 2 studios or Library): €1,450 – €1,500 EUR.
- Double Room + Private Dance Studio: €1,550 – €1,600 EUR.
- 3-Bedroom Apartment (Families): €2,850 – €3,150 EUR. (Note: Fees are waived for Künstlerhaus Lukas Ahrenshoop scholarship awardees).
- Artists are responsible for their own travel, materials, living expenses, and visas.
