No Place Art. An artist-led initiative dedicated to supporting and connecting artists with collectors and arts organizations. Edition Two brings together an exceptional group of 7 judges, 4 curators, and 19 awarding bodies.

Title & Description:

Applications are open for Edition Two: Materiality.

Artists are invited to submit works that respond to the theme of "Materiality." This theme explores the physical presence of a work of art—the substances it is made from, how they behave, and how they contribute to meaning (whether physically, conceptually, or processually). The final exhibition will feature 80 selected participants at The Handbag Factory in Vauxhall, London.

Eligibility:

  • Who: Open to artists aged 18 or over, at any stage of their career, worldwide.
  • Artwork Age & Submission Limit: Works must have been completed within the last three years. Artists may submit up to 5 works (maximum of 3 may be selected).
  • Size: Artworks must NOT exceed the size of 2m x 2m (including the frame).
  • Framing: Printmaking artworks must be professionally framed (painters are not required to frame or glaze unless necessary). Unframed prints will NOT be accepted. Frames must not include metal or clip mechanisms. Received artworks must NOT have fixings attached (professional installers will handle this).
  • Wrapping: Artworks MUST be wrapped in either an ArtPakk fabric bag or a hand-made mylar/insulation bag. Standard plastic waste is strictly prohibited. (Note: Selected artists receive a 50% discount on ArtPakk).
  • Sales: All artworks MUST be for sale. No Place Art takes a 30% commission on sales.

  • Exhibition: Showcase at The Handbag Factory in London (Sept 16–29, 2026).
  • Massive Award Pool: Over 19 awarding bodies are providing prizes, including:
    • Purchase Awards: Up to £1,000 (BDR Group, No Place Art).
    • Residencies: Bainbridge Print Studios (1-month), Stray Dog Residencies (4-10 days).
    • Exhibitions: Solo shows (Hive Artists, Little Buckland Gallery) and guest group spots (LOOP Artists, WhiteNoise_Projects).
    • Materials & Editions: Vouchers up to £500 (Kraft Metals, Daler-Rowney, Ironbridge, etc.) and professional screenprint editioning (Hippo Screenprinters).
    • Mentoring: Dozens of 1-on-1 mentoring, coaching, and editorial features.

Application Fee & Program Costs:

  • Standard Fee: £24 for the first artwork, £10 per each additional work.
  • Youth Fee (24 and Under): £16 for the first artwork, £10 per each additional work.
  • Delivery/Collection: Artists are strictly responsible for all transportation and framing costs.

Application Requirements:

  • Digital submissions must include high-resolution JPEG images (Max 10MB).
  • File Naming: Files MUST be formatted as: NameSurname_TitleOfWork.jpg.
