Oregon State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences announces the Art About Agriculture Competition and Touring Exhibition 2025. This juried event, with purchase awards and regional exposure, invites Pacific Northwest artists and fine craftspersons to submit work exploring agriculture, food, fiber, and natural resources.

Information & Application Details:

  • Deadline: March 2, 2025, 11:59 PM

Eligibility:

  • Open to artists residing in Alaska, British Columbia, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.
  • Students from OSU, Pendleton Center for the Arts, and Clackamas Community College (enrolled Sept 25, 2024 – Mar 22, 2025).

 

Theme: Artworks must relate to agriculture and natural resources. All fine arts and craft media are welcome.

Submission Requirements:

  • Up to 5 artworks; 3 additional images for 3D works.
  • Image format: JPG, 2000px+ on longest side.
  • No submission fees.
  • Online submission via Ideal-logic portal.

  • Logistics:

    • Artwork drop-off at OSU or shipment (with prepaid return label).
    • Must meet size and weight restrictions (max 50 lbs, height/width limits).

 

Selection Process:

  • Blind jurying in two phases.
  • 45-60 artworks selected for the tour.
  • Post-jury, artist names revealed for purchase award consideration.

  • Jurors:

    • Judith Baumann, collaborative printer and educator
    • Nika Blasser, visual arts instructor and gallery director
    • Michael Bondi, emeritus professor and Art-Sci initiative leader
    • Eric Frey, interdisciplinary artist and educator
    • Karen Russo, figurative sculptor

 

Program Benefits:

  • Touring exhibition across multiple venues.
  • $200 scholarship for selected OSU students or a $200 honorarium for other student participants.
  • Eligibility for purchase awards.
