The Grange Projects hosts integrated artistic activity at The Grange in Great Cressingham, Norfolk. The Peut Guard Artist Award was established in 2023 by artist Eugene Macki MRSS to provide a supportive and enabling platform for artists.

Title & Description:

Applications are open for the 2026 Peut Guard Artist Award.

The successful applicant will join The Grange Project In Residence Programme for a 10-day immersive residency alongside other artists. The primary aim is to allow the artist to focus solely on their practice in a generative, convivial atmosphere without any prescribed outcomes. The residency includes a supportive feedback process with fellow residents.

(Open to all artistic practices; facilities include outbuildings with hand/power tools, a kiln, and studio spaces).

Eligibility:

  • Who: Individual artists who identify as Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (non-white).
  • Scope: Applicants must be based in the UK.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Funding: The award covers all costs associated with the residency (accommodation, meals, and studio access). Note: Travel expenses remain the responsibility of the selected artist.
  • Accommodation: A private room with a desk in a historic Georgian house set on 10 acres of tranquil gardens. Shared bathroom facilities.
  • Meals: Fully catered vegan/vegetarian meals (breakfast, lunch, and communal dinners).
  • Dates: A 10-day (9-night) residency running from August 10 – 19, 2026.

Interested artists must submit their application formatted as a single PDF file via email. The PDF must include:

  1. Name, preferred pronouns, and contact details.
  2. A statement outlining your reasons for applying for the award (max 250 words).
  3. A short artist bio and CV.

  5. A link to your website and/or social media.
