Short Description
The Plexus Projects Studio Residency Program is open to individual artists or small collaborative teams. The studio is located at Plexus Projects in the vibrant Greenpoint, Brooklyn neighborhood of New York City. The space is approximately 350 square feet with 10’ ceilings and includes amenities such as a ceiling mounted projector, tables, chairs, and WIFI. (See more studio details below). The studio may be used for art production and studio visits with the artist’s own guests during this one month self-directed residency. The studio is work-only and is not appropriate for artists working with methods that involve dust, wet media, fumes, debris, or loud noise. As this residency does not provide housing or transportation support, it is best suited to artists already living in New York City metropolitan area. All communications and meetings are conducted in English.
Residency Duration: 1 month
Residency Periods: Monthly throughout the year
Residency Format: Self-directed (with optional studio visits) culminating in an online solo exhibition and an optional open studio
Residency Fee: $1500 USD fee due prior to start of residency
RESIDENCY SCHEDULE
- Residency Fee & Agreement: Thirty days prior to start of residency
- Move In: First day of month
- Residency Period: self-directed residency schedule to be determined by artist (9AM–10PM SUN–SAT)
- Studio Visits (optional): Studio visits with Plexus Projects founder and artist Laura Splan.
- Open Studio (optional): Last Saturday or Sunday of month.
- Move Out: Last day of Month
- Online Solo Exhibition: Following conclusion of residency
Eligibility
The Plexus Projects Studio Residency (the in-person, one-month program in Brooklyn) is indeed an international open call. Applications are welcome from artists of any nationality—there are no restrictions to U.S. citizens only.
